The Feuchtwangen Energy Campus at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences recently became an official partner in the Building Forum Climate Neutral network, actively supporting the energy transition in the building sector beyond the region. Together with the growing network of partners from chambers and associations, regional energy agencies and science, impulses are provided and knowledge is multiplied.

With the climate-neutral building forum, the German Energy Agency (dena) has initiated a central contact point for climate-neutral construction and refurbishment. The portal at www.gebaeudeforum.de offers quality-assured information on all aspects of climate-neutral buildings and neighbourhoods, provides information on innovations and makes the energy transition in the building sector visible using good examples.

The Building Forum is aimed at experts from the fields of architecture, energy consulting and technical building services, but technical experts from the property industry and property management companies will also find answers to their questions here.

The Building Forum is also a contact point for long-standing experts and professionals starting out in their careers. They benefit from quality-assured, reliable information and the telephone and e-mail service provided by the team of experts. Everything you need to know for everyday working life is bundled in one place and prepared for specific target groups. The website contains information ranging from the Building Energy Act and individual renovation roadmaps to heating system optimisation and innovations such as building with mushrooms.

The aim of the climate-neutral building forum is to multiply knowledge and thus accelerate the progress of the energy transition in the building sector. It therefore enables stakeholders with their expertise in the field of climate-neutral construction and refurbishment to become visible on the portal, exchange ideas with the partner network in dialogue events and thus benefit from the different skills of others.

Another element of this is the best practice portal. Successes in the energy transition in buildings and neighbourhoods as well as the experts involved are presented there. It is intended to encourage people to imitate good examples and increase the acceptance and attractiveness of energy-efficient measures and renewable energies.

The research hall at the Feuchtwangen Study and Technology Centre is also listed as a showpiece. The pioneering model project of the nationwide funding programme for Energy Efficiency House Plus educational buildings also serves as a demonstration and research object not only for students at the university.

The two-storey building in timber construction consists of a research hall as well as office and seminar rooms. Its outstanding feature is the technologically sophisticated energy concept. By combining and intelligently controlling the various energy sources, it is possible to fully secure the building’s heat and energy supply and at the same time generate a surplus of solar power. The building is currently being extended to include additional office and seminar rooms as well as a lecture theatre.
