Welcome to Campus Feuchtwangen

Start of semester for the second generation of Smart Energy Systems students

On Tuesday of last week, more than 1,000 students began their studies at Ansbach University of Applied Sciences. The new freshmen of the Feuchtwangen campus also participated in the ceremonial welcome by the university president Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sascha Müller-Feuerstein in the Onoldiasaal. Afterwards, the Smart Energy Systems (SES) students were personally welcomed by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Johannes Jungwirth and his colleagues at the main campus in Ansbach.

The welcome in Feuchtwangen took place one day later in the rooms of the Bauakademie. The new students received some general information and also got to know the campus team. At the following lunch, staff and newcomers took the opportunity to talk and get to know eachother.

Walter Soldner, the second mayor of the city of Feuchtwangen, also warmly welcomed the students. “The worldwide interest in the master’s program in Feuchtwangen shows how important and innovative its contents are,” he said.

“I wish all students a good and successful time in Feuchtwangen” continued Walter Soldner. The students then got to know the history and the most beautiful places of the cloister town during a guided tour of the town by Ms. Bachmann.

Things continued to be interactive on Thursday. At an inter-semester “Get Together”, the students of the current and last year’s class met with lecturers and employees of the university. Even Michael Dams, long-time National Instruments head of the DACH region and “only” guest lecturer for Energy Entrepreneuership did not miss the opportunity and traveled especially for this one event.

Under the guidance of Monica Baudracco-Kastner, lecturer for German I and II at the Campus Feuchtwangen, all participants worked out differences and similarities – in origin, habits, interests and plans. In small groups there was a lot of talking, discussing and laughing.
