350 participants, one focus: HEMS and specialist trades

2nd Energy Management Day of EnBW Energiegemeinschaft e.V. shows ways to a
smart energy future

Around 350 installers, experts, and interested parties gathered on July 9 for the 2nd Energy Management Day hosted by EnBW Energiegemeinschaft e.V. to discuss current developments and practical applications in the field of home energy management systems (HEMS). The event offered a versatile platform for knowledge transfer, discussion, and networking—practical, forward-looking, and technically sound.

Thomas Haupt, M.Sc. (research assistant), was also there as a speaker and provided information about the HEMS Finder—an innovative tool that offers both consumers and installers a comprehensive overview of available products. It creates transparency in the HEMS market and assists in the selection of suitable home energy management systems, making decision-making much easier.

The HEMS Finder is being developed as part of a DATIpilot project funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR). The research conducted on campus thus contributes not only regionally but also nationally to the further development of practical solutions.

“Many installers face the challenge of finding the right system for different applications,” explained Thomas Haupt. “With the HEMS Finder, we are providing them with a tool that helps them make quick and informed decisions – manufacturer-neutral and user-friendly.”

Participants showed great interest in the tool’s functions and provided valuable feedback, which will now be incorporated into the targeted further development of the HEMS Finder – with the aim of adapting the tool even better to the needs of users.
