University and city welcome international master’s students
85 new students start the winter semester in Feuchtwangen
The two master’s programs Smart Energy Systems (SES) and Sustainable Building Systems (SBS) got off to a successful start at the beginning of the 2025/26 winter semester. A total of 85 first-year students enrolled in the programs, which are offered at the Feuchtwangen campus.
The official welcome by University President Prof. Dr. Sascha Müller-Feuerstein took place on October 1 in the new premises at the Brücken-Center Ansbach. Ansbach University of Applied Sciences has enrolled over 1,300 new first-year students at the start of the semester – a gratifying number, especially given the lack of high school graduates in Bavaria.
Under the motto “Arrival,” the new students were able to explore the Ansbach campus, make initial contacts, and gather important information about starting their studies at the introductory event. As part of the “restart” program, key institutions such as Student Services, the Family Office, Student Counseling, the Student Council, and the Green Office introduced themselves. Regional partners also presented themselves at the kick-off event.
Welcome at the Feuchtwangen Energy Campus
A few days later, the new master’s students were welcomed in person by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Haresh Vaidya and his team at the Energy Campus Feuchtwangen. In addition to general information about their studies, the first-year students were given an introduction to the specific content of the two master’s programs and the bridge semester. “We are particularly pleased about the great interest worldwide – it shows how important the courses are,” emphasized Prof. Vaidya.
As every year, the third mayor of the city of Feuchtwangen, Herbert Lindörfer, provided a special welcome. Under the motto “Smart minds. Strong opportunities,” he presented each student with one of the traditional StadtFeu bags – filled with regional products and information about the city and its surroundings. “I am very pleased that you have chosen Feuchtwangen and these forward-looking degree programs,” said Herbert Lindörfer.
Following the welcome, the students had the opportunity to get to know each other during a round of introductions. A tour of the premises and a joint lunch rounded off the event.
