The online application process via our applicant portal PRIMUSS is open from May 2 to 31. Be aware that we require a bachelor’s degree with grade 2.5 or better according to the European ECTS system. Unfortunately, we cannot take grades from master’s degree into count neither work experience.

Foreign degrees are accredited via uni-assist (https://www.uni-assist.de/en/). It is not possible to accept applications without the preliminary documentation of uni-assist (= VPD) issued for our university. Please note the necessary processing time of at least 4 weeks. Obey all deadlines for application and submission of documents. Also check https://www.hs-ansbach.de/en/service/for-prospective-students/application-master-part-time/.

We require German A1 and English B2 as proof of language proficiency. A grade of at least „good“ in the Technical English module or comparable as well as a degree programme taught entirely in English can also be recognised here. Please check https://www.hs-ansbach.de/en/service/international-student-advisory-service/language-offer-learn-german/ for free German course offers from Ansbach University of Applied Sciences (not yet online and very much in demand, so you have to be very quick when booking). These can also be recognised. You can apply without a German language certificate, but you will have to provide it before semester starts.

Entry for the purpose of taking up studies as well as study visits for individual semesters are possible. Proof of this must be provided with the corresponding notification of admission from the higher education institution. Proof of compulsory presence is not required, as the universities regularly hold a mixture of online and face-to-face courses. We don’t require any tuition fee. Our students pay only EUR 65€ as a semester fee / each semester.

If you do not have 210 ECTS, you need an additional 30 ECTS before starting your Master’s thesis. You can acquire these through additional courses at the Ansbach University of Applied Sciences or the Virtual University Bavaria. Alternatively, internships and work experience can be recognised under certain conditions.

Questions about the documents

Foreign degrees are accredited via uni-assist (https://www.uni-assist.de/en/). Please note the necessary processing time of at least 4-6 weeks. It is not possible to accept applications without the preliminary documentation of uni-assist (= VPD) issued for our university.

We require certified copies. It might be possible to do an online verification only. However, it always depends on the country. Please apply via uni-assist directly and inform yourself, whether you have to send your copies via post or an online verification suffices.
VPD has to be uploaded to PRIMUSS like your other documents.

Please submit your application anyway. As soon as we have received your documents, we will check whether you meet the requirements. If all other requirements are met, we may be able to grant you an extension of the deadline regarding the VPD. You will get informed about the decision of the application committee as soon as possible.

Evaluation reports for other universities will not be accepted!

It is not a problem to apply for the master’s course without German A2 certificate. Please make sure to hand in at least a A1 certificate and some confirmation about A2 lectures. In case of doubt we may offer some kind of German language test via a personal Zoom interview.
Ansbach University of Applied Science also offers an online German language course. You can find further information to that under https://www.hs-ansbach.de/en/service/international-student-advisory-service/language-offer-learn-german/

You can also apply without any German language certificate, but you will have to provide it before semester starts. Please find all deadlines for application and submission of documents in our key data for applicants: https://www.hs-ansbach.de/fileadmin/Redaktion/Master/SES/SES_Key_data_WS_22_23.pdf

We are aware of the issues regarding visa and travelling. There is no obligation to attend the orientation week. Even if you are not present in the lectures during the first weeks, this will not be an exclusion criterion. Nevertheless, please try to attend classes as soon as possible.

Please submit your application anyway. As soon as we have received your documents, we will check whether you meet the requirements. If all other requirements are met, we may be able to grant you an extension of the deadline regarding the VPD. You will get informed about the decision of the application committee as soon as possible.
